Lipid Clinic

In an effort to provide the most complete cardiovascular care for our patients, the BryanLGH Heart Institute has established the BHI Lipid Clinic. Our goal is to address secondary and occasionally primary prevention of cardiovascular disease specifically in difficult to manage patients. Once patients reach goal and are on an established treatment plan, care is returned back to the primary care physician. We are also available to make treatment recommendations on a "consultation only" basis.

This program facilitates the successful treatment of our patients' cardiovascular risk. Ryan Whitney, MD will serve as the Director of the BHI Lipid Clinic and will work with Danelle Homeyer, RN and Joellen Frey, RN to coordinate the program. Lipid Clinic services include diet survey and education with a registered dietician, exercise planning, medication review and assessment of efficacy of treatment. Lipoprotein analysis will be done for those patients who appear to be at goal but have new cardiovascular disease or recurrent disease.
