Dr. Joseph L. Kummer is a native of Omaha, NE. He attended Saint Louis University, where he received two undergraduate degrees and completed pre-medical studies in 1996. He then attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha where he earned his medical degree in 2000. Upon completion of medical school, he moved to Chicago, IL, where he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University. He went on to complete his fellowship in cardiology and cardiovascular disease at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI.
Dr. Kummer joined BHI in August, 2006. He has a focus in coronary catheterization, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and coronary computed tomography.
Dr. Kummer is an avid sports fan and loves to travel. He enjoys running, hiking, scuba diving, and spending time with his family in Omaha.
