A native of Kearney, Nebraska, Dr. Krueger attended Nebraska Wesleyan College in Lincoln where he earned his B.S. in Biology. He received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha. He then moved west where he completed his internship and residency of Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, California.
Upon completing his education, Dr. Krueger practiced internal medicine in St. Joseph, Missouri for seven years. From there, he went to the University of Utah in Salt Lake City where he served fellowships in cardiology, electrophysiology and congestive heart failure. He then moved back to Lincoln where he has been practicing cardiology since 1988. Dr. Krueger was one of the founders of the BryanLGH Heart Institute and currently serves as director of the BryanLGH Heart Improvement Program (BHIP).
Dr. Krueger has a specialty interest in congestive heart failure. He currently manages the care of over 800 patients in the Heart Improvement Program and has served as principle investigator on over 60 clinical research trials. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine Subspecialty Board of Cardiovascular Diseases. He has also achieved fellowship status for a number of additional professional societies, including the American College of Physicians and the American College of Cardiology. In addition, he participates in several medical organizations including the Nebraska Medical Association, the Lancaster County Medical Society and the American Heart Association.
Dr. Krueger enjoys spending time with his wife Judy and their two children Jason and Kelly. He is also an avid outdoorsman and spends his free time fishing, hunting and skiing.
